Founded in 1974 by Shri B Shivaraman, a pioneer in the Indian oil industry, Mekuba has grown to become one of Tamil Nadu’s leading lubricant suppliers. Based in Chennai, we cater to major industrial hubs across India, delivering premium solutions for the Auto Ancillary and Metalworking industries.

Leadership
B. Shivaraman
Founder of the Mekuba Group of Companies
Born in Nemmara village, Palakkad district in Kerala, B. Shivaraman was a pioneering industrialist in post-independent India. A chemical engineer from the Indian Institute of Science [IISc] Bangalore, he had a distinguished career at top companies including Tata Chemicals Gujarat, Burma Shell, and Indian Oil Refineries Limited (a Government of India enterprise).
Shivaraman was selected to lead a team to Eastern European and British Oil refineries, after which he became the Chief Process and Production Engineer at IOCL Noonmati Refinery in Guwahati, Assam. In the early 70s, he shifted base to the South and became a consultant to Madras Refineries Ltd (now part of Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited), before founding Mekuba Petro Products in 1974.
Shivaraman was honored with the Vijay Shree Award by the International Friendship Society of India (IFSI) for his outstanding achievements and contributions to enriching human life.
